Highly recommended! I was provided this audiobook free of charge upon request and volunteered this honest review A great setting in winter with snow, cabin magic, Christmas and lots of emotion. Also, it would have been nice to be able to tell the characters apart more clearly. I liked his pace of narration, but I would have liked him to express the emotion a bit more clearly. The narrator James Edward Jones was new to me and on the whole read quite well. Now it is no longer hot in the cabin, but freezing cold. But hovering over their happiness is Jason, who then suddenly appears in the doorway. Drew and Kevin have a lot in common and feel comfortable in each other's company. I really liked Kevin and Drew, there is a considerable age difference between them and I was pleasantly surprised at how well the author described the development of their relationship. There is no denying the attraction the two have for each other and this is where things get hot. Then, when it doesn't work out again at Christmas that Kevin can see his family, Kevin is at a cabin with Drew. With his family too far away, Kevin spends Thanksgiving with his friend Jason and his friend's father Drew. I received this free review copy audio book by request and have left this honest review voluntarily. Narrator James Edward Jones has a pleasant voice I enjoyed listening to, though the character voices didn't sound all that distinctive to my ears. I was also annoyed at Drew for how quickly he cast Kevin aside when it all went down, and their reconciling with each other after Jason begrudgingly gives his blessing was all wrapped up a little too neatly for my taste. to be almost as OTT ridiculous as Drew and Kevin considering Jason's feelings above their own. Jason hangs over their relationship (and this story) like a gloomy cloud, and I found the grown man's immature and selfish reaction to discovering them together - even if being overly dramatic is his M.O.

But their connection proves undeniable and culminates in a blissfully steamy week-long cabin rendezvous at Christmastime until Jason arrives to throw a bucket of ice water on their budding romance. Getting to know each other over several days at Thanksgiving includes some heavy flirting, but they're both painfully aware of how their mutual attraction can't go any further for Jason's sake. Grad student Kevin (24/25) joins his best friend Jason for the holidays, and sparks fly when he winds up staying alone in a snowy cabin with Jason's silver fox dad Drew (48). Steamy But Frustrating Snowy Cabin Age-Gap Romanceįorced proximity at Christmas is quickly becoming a favorite romance trope, and I liked the approach to it here.
